REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing Company.

Maintenance Engineer - DAYS ONLY

Purpose of the position


To carry out preventative and planned maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability, a safe place of work and an orderly and well-maintained environment.

The scope of the objective covers, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.

Principal responsibilities

Ensure all plant on site is regularly maintained in accordance with company standards.
Provide defect maintenance service which will ensure that faulty plant and equipment will be rectified as quickly as possible.
Maintain safe working practices, including strict adherence to the permit to work procedures
Provide technical support into the resolution of plant problems
Involvement in accident investigation and reporting to maximise knowledge of causes and therefore enhance ability to prevent recurrence
Work closely with contractors for mechanical, instrument, electrical and civil work

Strive for improvement in all operations at the site by:
Maximising productivity of the maintenance function
Providing major input into the resolution of plant problems
Execution of minor projects in accordance with Engineering Management of Change procedures (EMOC)
Actively involved in continuous improvement projects

Required qualifications/experience

  • City & Guilds equivalent time served in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrument disciplines
  • IOSH safety management
  • Knowledge of appropriate regulatory and legislative requirements to the role
  • Significant experience of industrial plant maintenance
  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems
