Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Utilize cost estimation software and tools to develop comprehensive estimates
- Prepare detailed takeoffs and quantity surveys for materials, labour, and equipment
- Research and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing
- Identify costsaving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards
- Present estimates to management and clients in a clear and professional manner
- Review completed projects to compare estimated costs with actual costs and identify areas for improvement
Qualifications:
- Willing to learn and have good computer skills
- Learning to use cost estimation software and tools
- Good mathematical skills with the ability to perform complex calculations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, dealing with clients
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Skills:
- Cost control: Ability to analyse costs and identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
