Administrative Assistant - Full-time

Highfield House (Haven Care Centres Ltd) is a family owned Care Home based in Whitehaven, West Cumbria that provides dignified, person centred care that is based upon best practice guidance.
Our staff enhance the lives of our residents by providing care that is individualised, safe and supports our residents in a homely caring environment.
We have a significant number of our residents living with varying degrees of dementia and we support them and their families through their journey celebrating and focusing on what they can do, not what they can't.
We are a caring Team with a diverse range of knowledge, experience, ages and backgrounds; in addition it also helps if you have a good sense of humour
Ultimately, you should be able and willing to support our Home Manager and the Management Team and ensure our day-to-day office operations run smoothly.
Duties include (but are not exclusive to):
- Supporting the Management Team with daily clerical tasks
- Plan meetings, appointments and take detailed minutes
- Answer phone calls, provide information to callers or connect callers to appropriate people
- Compose and type correspondence, for example communications with Local Authority, HR correspondence, Safeguarding/Incident Reports
- Develop and maintain filing and admin systems to meet the needs of the Service
- Create and maintain spreadsheets
- Support provision of statistical reports
- Greet and provide general support to visitors
- Develop, implement and improve office policies and procedures
Essentials:
- Proven work experience as an Administrative assistant
- Indepth understanding of office management and daily operations
- Hands on experience with Outlook Office
- Working knowledge of office equipment (printers, laminators etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
Desirables:
- Experience of working within the Health and Social Care Sector
- Some understanding of Health and Social Care Legislation/terminology
- Qualification in Health and Social Care
Salary:
From £20,475.00 per year

Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Administrative experience: 2 years (required)

- Driving Licence (preferred)
