About the Role


As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Physical Education and School Sport, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our BA (Hons) Physical Education and School Sport programme.

This will involve contributing to the delivery of modules focused on physical education pedagogy and practical areas of study, as well as other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience.


You will be expected to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Strands and meet the requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework exercise.


About You


You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

You will have expertise in physical education pedagogy and practical areas of physical education study.

Very good teaching experience on undergraduate physical education programmes is essential, and a background in school/college physical education teaching with supporting qualifications and experience would be an advantage.

You will have a PhD (or be working towards/have a desire to gain one) and aspirations to develop a research profile in a physical education/sport pedagogy-related area.


It is important to note that the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure for you from the Disclosure and Barring Service and that this will form part of the conditions of offer of employment.
