Mechanical Fitter/Lathe Operator


JOB LOCATION:
Widnes, Cheshire


HOURLY RATE:
£23 Umbrella per hour


DURATION:
2.5 years


HOURS PER WEEK:
40 hours average


START DATE:

Job Overview:


Based within the Rolling Stock industry (Trains) we are currently recruiting Machinists to operate Manual Lathes on Rolling stock depot based in Widnes, Cheshire.


Job Profile:

  • Manual Lathes
  • Horizontal Boring equipment
  • Mechanical Fitting

To undertake all types of Mechanical, repair and replace on Rolling Stock to ensure that we provide our customer with a reliable, safe and defect free train.

The position is a key Safety Critical position and is a requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet of Rolling stock.

Person profile:
You will be a highly self-motivated individual, able to work under your own initiative.
You will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
You will need extensive all-round knowledge of Machining
You will ideally have knowledge of modern rolling stock systems,
You will ideally have experience of Train depot operations.

Please note that this role is based in a Rolling stock depot, therefore the environment is heavy industrial working environment.
