International and Private Patients Liaison Officer


Guys and St Thomas' has ambitious plans to develop its private patient services and improve processes to support patient care and significantly increase income.

This post is an exciting opportunity to join the International and Private Patients service working alongside clinicians and patients to provide a high quality.


Reporting to the International Service Manager for private healthcare, this role will be responsible for providing interpreting and liaison support to the patients and families, consultants, medical staff and other multidisciplinary professionals that have input in the care and management of Arabic-speaking private patients at Guys and St Thomas'.


The Private Patient Liaison Officer will also be responsible for providing an excellent liaison service to support both existing and new relationships with local Middle East Health Offices and other third parties who refer patients for private medical care.


The post holder will be expected to work with referring organisations in order to streamline access to Trust services and assist in managing patient pathways efficiently and offer a high-quality patient experience.


This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing team and have direct impact on patient care for Arabic speaking patients referred to GSTT.


Following the merger of GSTT and Royal Brompton & Harefield in February 2021, private patient services within the combined trusts have merged to create one of the largest private patient teams within the NHS.

Guys and St Thomas' Specialist Care provides a unique offering of specialist services across multiple sites and with significant plans to expand in the future.


To deliver professional Arabic interpreting & translation services within both clinical and non-clinical settings involving private patients, families, consultants, other clinical staff and managers.


To support the delivery of an effective and responsive liaison service between private patients, hospital administration teams, consultants, and local Embassies/Health Offices.


To support Guys and St Thomas' Specialist Care through active relationship building with Embassies and Health Offices by promoting clinical services, specialties and Consultants, in order to increase the contribution that private patient services make to NHS services.
