The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) is a Bristol-based national charity that supports people and organisations across the UK to tackle the climate emergency and end the suffering caused by cold homes.

We do this by sharing our knowledge, practical experience and policy insights.


The Role
We're looking for a Senior Energy Advisor to join our growing and dynamic team.

This rewarding role will make a direct impact on people's lives, support our dedicated energy advisors and help deliver CSE's mission to end the suffering of cold homes.

Our energy advice changes lives, helps improve people's mental and physical health and cuts carbon emissions.

We're seeing a significant increase in calls due to the cost of living and energy crises. People are in increasingly difficult circumstances and calls are often sensitive in nature requiring an empathetic and can-do attitude.


Responsibilities include

  • After significant training over a period of months, you will support staff on our energy advice line to deal with complex enquiries and calls of a distressing nature.
  • You may occasionally be required to give face to face advice at home visits, events, talks and presentations.
  • You will be responsible for the day to day updating of our systems such as your CSE timesheets and our client advice database.
  • Identifying energy improvements that can be made to properties and referring to installers who can fit them.
  • Experience of giving advice.
  • Experience of customer service.
  • Experience of taking a lead on the delivery and coordination of projectbased activity.
  • Ability to respond to vulnerable clients in a respectful and engaging manner.
  • Ability to present complex information in an accessible and appropriate manner.
  • Ability to work in a team and able to identify areas where their skills complement others.
