The working hours would be between:

Monday to Sunday 9:00 - 17:30 and 15:
depending upon opening hours for Quarter Bar.

Origin Multilingual is proud to announce we are recruiting for a Bar Manager to join a boutique hotel in Central London.


Primary Duties:


Managing members of the team and supervisors, overall leadership - lead by example, building an effective team, direction, coordination and evaluation of department.

Ensuring appropriate professional standards of behavior, work standards, productivity, practicesand customer care are enforced.

  • Understand the aims of the Hotel and agree on departmental objectives and communicate them to the team.
  • To arrive for work at the correct time, look smart and wellpresented and ensure your team's grooming is to the highest standard.
  • To ensure all administration, ordering and planning of the bar meet the daily needs of the operation. Decisions have to be in line with the hotel's interests.
  • To ensure all food and drink items are accounted for through the ePOS system
  • To carry monthly stocktake of all beverages, monthly food stocktake and quarterly equipment stocktake and to achieve targets set by the company
  • To complete tasks listed in the log book and record daily the revenues and covers
  • To ensure all beverage items are ordered on time and through a requisition document only.
  • To follow doors are locked before completing cashing up procedures and are recorded as per hotel procedures
  • To place orders for food and beverage items relating to the bar with the Head Chef on time as set out by each supplier
  • To positively promote sales awareness within the department and maximize sales opportunities.
  • To proactively assist in the controls of all operating, beverage and labour costs and recommend changes in order to keep costs at budgeted levels.
  • To carry out training on a weekly basis and use other media to communicate information to the staff
  • To liaise with other supervisors to ensure the information is communicated and a good working relationship is upheld.
  • To assist other departments to establish and then achieve predetermined profit and productivity objectives and desired standards in food, service, hygiene and creativity.
  • To ensure all department heads in F&B are communicating efficiently.
  • To assist in training and coaching staff.
  • To liaise with the Food and Beverage Manager for disciplinary procedures, recruitments and payroll issues.
  • To carry out security checks on a regular basis of all staff
  • To ensure the staff area is kept clean and replenished with food and beverage items, this includes condiments, coffee and water
  • To ensure Bar stock for the Night Manager is filled to par levels
  • To ensure staff follow opening and closing procedures, service standards and any changes are made taking into account the interest of the hotel and guest
  • To promote a helpful and professional image to guests and staff and give full cooperation to any guest or colleague requiring assistance with a prompt, helpful, polite and caring attitude.
  • To deal with any guest complaint and to investigate any complaint letter or negative comment cards.
  • To be knowledgeable of all products, menus and standards within the departments.
  • To report any allegations of food poisoning/foreign objects in food and complete documentation
  • To remain on shift beyond your scheduled time due to demands of the business to ensure guest satisfaction and ensure guests payment is complete
  • To be flexible in assisting around the hotel in response to business needs and carry out all other duties legally and responsibly requested by management which fall within the scope and purpose of this position.
  • To be fully conversant with the Licensing Act 1964 and ensure all bar staff have received training, which is documented
  • To ensure staff are aware of our social responsibilities or serving alcohol
  • To ensure bar area and kitchen adhere to a high standard of cleaning as per health and safety legislation and is recorded
  • To ensure health and safety legislation is followed for handling and maintaining ice and the ice machine
  • To ensure all staff is aware of and adheres to statutory and legal requirements for fire, health & safety and employment.
  • To undergo training as required meeting the demands of the business, including periodic fire, Health & Safety training.
  • To have full knowledge of your Fire and Disaster Procedure, assisting H.O.D to train all departmental employees
  • To have full knowledge of the Hotels and Company Security procedures
  • To be fully conversant and to implement Hygiene and safety standards in line with the company policy statement, the Health and Safety at Work Act and the hygiene Regulations
  • To report faults and health and safety hazards
  • To be aware of, and comply with Food Safety Acts
  • To wear any appropriate protective clothing provided or recommended by the company
  • Ensure any accidents to staff, guests, or visitors are reported in accordance with hotel procedures
  • To have full knowledge of your departmental Risk Assessments, assisting H.O.D ensuring that all employees are fully aware and to read, and sign to say they understand the risks
