About the Client

Currently working with the world's leading public service broadcaster that provides

audiences in the UK with high quality and distinctive services across television, radio and online.

The company also delivers impartial news and information to audiences around the globe through the World Service, which broadcasts in 28 languages

What will you be doing??

Reed Professional Services are working with the Sports department across a family of products,

which consists of full stack development teams building scalable back-end services and hosted on

AWS, as well as responsive front ends in React and JavaScript.

As the department goes through a transformation in terms of its online offering, RPS are looking for an API Design & Build Specialist to join a wider team to drive forward these changes/enhancementsacross multiple departments.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Hands on experience with JavaScript skills across the full stack, including Typescript and ReactJS.
  • Competent experience of designing, building and maintaining versioned, secure and scalable
  • RESTful API's.
  • Expert knowledge in building API interfaces to store and query JSON data represented in a
- relational database.

  • Strong experience with AWS.
  • Experience mentoring/ aiding the building of a new architecture with less experienced colleagues,
- helping to drive out the best solutions.

  • Troubleshoot issues and solve problems, identifying potential process improvement areas.
  • Driven selfstarter helping to deliver quality results on time with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to work alongside architecture and engineering teams to design and implement any scalable
- software services.

  • Stay current with new technology options and vendor products, evaluating which ones would be a
- good fit for the company.

  • Excellent communication skills, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment closely with
- senior stakeholders.

Desirable skills

Experience working with sports data.

Additional Information

  • This role is paying inside IR3
  • On site travel 1 day per week (Thursday) Salford
