We're looking for a Component Manufacturing Scheduler to join our manufacturing team based at the Wellbank facility in Peterhead.

About the role


The Manufacturing Scheduler will be responsible for the machine shop / manufacturing scheduling and planning with creation, launch and closure on all necessary documentation through the ERP system and other company systems.

This role will be in support of optimised production output from work centres across the area.

Primary responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions
  • Requesting Castings & and Drawings for each allocated Work order
  • Creating job cards when serial numbers are supplied from stores
  • Making up work packs which include, job card, bar code, drawings, and casting serial numbers for each work order for all machines
  • Book in all complete components to stock making sure delivery note, manufacturing status sheet and D365 system is kept up

  • Keep interdepartmental tracker updated daily with Manufacturing status sheet
  • If a routing changes within the workshop create a new master job card and get system updated update the system with new route
  • Work with and support other Planners / Programmers as required, with the aim of optimising the manufacturing cell throughput, covering for activities resulting from Programme/Planner workload peaks and absences, within the own capabilities of the role
  • Support ensuring all work order dates are up to date
  • Daily walk round workshop to verify status of jobs, update status sheet and D365 to reflect where job is at the status of the job
  • Support creation, launch and issue of all necessary documentation for any Fair/Delta fair situations, making sure new process/new machine changes are captured
  • Support notification of supply chain on purchase orders required to be raised for subcontract activities, including ensuring preparation of parts has been completed as required and all necessary documentation required to accompany the parts is made available and accompanies the parts to the Subcontractor. (e.g., coating providers). Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business

Qualifications:


  • HND in an Engineering or similar discipline preferred
Experience

  • Relevant training in planning and scheduling is preferred
  • Highly motivated and excellent communication skills are essential
  • Good activity organisational skills and methodical approach to task management is essential
  • Proficient at translating information into basic planning and scheduling tools
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Previous experience in a planning function, particularly with respect to manufacturing areas, is preferred
  • Previous experience in mass / large batch production planning and scheduling is desirable
  • Previous experience in use of scheduling tools e.g., Microsoft Project would be beneficial

  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management to convey necessary information
  • Ability to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work constructively and efficiently when given deadlines
  • Proficient IT Skills in use of Microsoft Office
