The Campus Experience and Commercial Services team sits within the UCL Campus Experience and Infrastructure division and is also responsible for UCL Accommodation, and are now seeking to recruit a dynamicand creative Communications Officer to join our award-winning communications team.


About the role


Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Officer will support with student and staff communication activities and campaigns and also in implementing the department's communication strategy in line with brand standards as well as contributeto the development, implementation, management and evaluation of student/staff communication and engagement activities and initiatives.

The Communications Officer will collaboratively contribute to an integrated team who interfaces across UCL proactively andproductively, to deliver an effective, cohesive and coordinated events programme and assist in producing, delivering and evaluating the department's communication strategies and platforms and to deliver this in line with the overall strategy of the departmentand the wider communication initiatives of UCL.

They will work closely with colleagues across the central administration and services, with academic and administrative members of the University and its colleges, Students Union UCL and with students.


About you


This is a diverse role suitable for a self-starter, who can identify key audiences, and is able to design and/or utilise the most appropriate channels for communication with a wide range of stakeholders.

The post holder must be someone eager to learn, develop,and keen to make an impact on the life of students at UCL.

Applicants should be educated to A level standard, or should have relevant experience in terms of writing and analysis.

You should be knowledgeable of social media channels and developments and willneed to have a good working knowledge of Content Management Systems, as well as familiarity with MS Office (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook), Google Analytics and diary management software.

You should have experience of using social media to promote anorganisation, project or campaign experience of project management and managing the execution of projects with senior support, and experience of working with different communications channels including websites, e-newsletters, etc.

Applicants should also beable to demonstrate competency in previous roles writing copy for different audiences, creating and managing news and media content and managing and liaising with external designers and printers.
