In this role you will be at the forefront of Healthcare product development and primarily focused on holistic user centred UX system - physical, digital, service and system experience.


You will need to have a sharp mind that is not afraid of complex challenges that inherently come with creating healthcare solutions for real users in a regulated environment.


You will have a clear ability to not just bring ideas, but also develop them beyond concept, through development within a regulated quality management system.

The role requires a thorough approach with a high level of attention to detail.

Not only will you have the skills to bring ideas to life, but also the ability to document, explain and justify them to wider teams that work together and are responsible for delivering safe, commercially viable products that people understand how to use and find meaningful.


Our Team


We are looking for a creative, passionate and thoughtful senior UX designer to join the team as we grow our market offering in product, packaging, instructions for use and app design.


What You Will Do

  • Primarily lead physical, digital and service projects through discovery research, synthesis, ideation, concept design, testing of new product concepts all the way through development and commercial launch.
  • Be part of a global design team that is working with colleagues and customers across the globe. You can expect to predomintly be working in Europe and North America, but with opportunities to do work with Asia.
  • Be extremely comfortable with ambiguity, difficult challenges and having to solve many problems. But also, be adept at making the complex simple for colleagues, customers and end users.
  • Be comfortable working with physical products and the user experience transition between physical, digital and service products within a product system.
  • Be comfortable working and leading user centred projects that include packaging, instructions for use, industrial design and apps/digital UX.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of frameworks and processes to incorporate design thinking / iterative design / design sprints / agile into the Healthcare product development.
  • Support the wider Phillips-Medisize business/team with user experience design / design thinking.
  • Believe that business acumen and design sensibilities are equally important to the success of a company.

Who You Are


You will likely have trained as a designer, but have considerable experience in organising and conducting user research, running internal and client facing ideation workshops as well as visualising physical and digital product concepts.

Design skills:

  • You play between research, strategy and UX.
  • You are a thinker, doer and maker.
  • You are a visual thinker and adept at communicating via various creative software platforms and/or media which could include: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, Adobe XD / Figma / ProtoPie, Adobe Premier / After Effects, Solidworks / Creo / Keyshot.
  • You have experience in physical product design including industrial design, packaging and instructions for use.
Research skills

  • You have experience in translating observations into insights and actionable design decisions.
  • You love consumer behaviour and psychology.
  • You have the professional ability to conduct iterative codesign sessions where end users critique your own design work.
  • You are able to participate in user research sessions as either an active participant, or an observer.
Teamwork skills

  • You are as comfortable working by yourself on difficult challenges as problem solving within a wider team effort.
  • You have a proactive approach to your work. You are happy to take the initiative where appropriate, but not afraid to seek guidance if needed.
  • You will be part of team with an incredible breadth of experience and expertise. You are comfortable in learning other people's professional languages, whilst helping them better understand the role and power of design thinking.
