We have an exciting opportunity for three Supply Chain Specialists to join the Commercial Team within the Supply Chain function.

These are key roles, responsible for supporting commercial arrangements and maintaining a long-term value adding partnership with EDF's suppliers.

A range of roles exists, including:

Strategic Supplier management:

responsibility for one or more partnership arrangements, ensuring win-win commercial relationships are in place to support the lifetime of the fleet.

This role would require you to be flexible and adaptable in order to move between contract portfolios/category markets as needed.


Commercial:
responsibility for various category markets and individual projects and frameworks within them as applicable. This role requires good experience of procurement activities including tendering, tenderer evaluation, conditions of contract and contract formation.

In addition, flair and the use of commercial judgement together with strong stakeholder management and influencing / communication skills to work with people at all levels both internally and with contract partners is required.

We can offer a competitive salary from £40,069 - £71,779 and you'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you'll be doing
Alongside the management of large multi-party commercial and single contract party arrangements you will:

  • Ensure that activities are effective and streamlined, and that opportunities for synergies with other key alliances have been maximised.
  • Lead on upstream procurement activities, including contract formation, framework renewals, rate negotiations and projects, within the EDF policies and procedures
  • To procure in accordance with Company's Acquire Goods and Services Process, and the Company's Supply Chain Strategies
  • Administering the upstream & downstream commercial aspects of a contract to the delegated level of authority (this includes sourcing, procurement strategy, supplier appraisal, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, placement, variation management and performance monitoring)
  • Develop and maintain appropriate key metrics and reporting as part of governance and control activities and to demonstrate the value being added by the frameworks.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring key deliveries are managed to deliver commercial advantage and value for money is achieved.
  • Drive commercial challenges as well as taking responsibility for contract and partner performance improvement.
  • Develop and maintain sound relationships with key partners and internal customers at all levels.
  • As part of Nuclear Operations Supply Chain function, ensure that company commercial strategy and processes are being appropriately devised and deployed within the area of responsibility
  • Support the rolling out and ongoing downstream commercial aspects of of the framework agreements working with stakeholders and suppliers to achieve this
  • Providing information and advice for action relating to suppliers, goods and services using SAP and other systems.

Who you are


You will have experience of working in a technical engineering environment and are educated to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent.

You will have relevant commercial experience in procurement, contract/commercial management and SRM but other relevant experience will be considered.


We're looking for an individual who has a strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships across all levels.


You will be a delivery focused individual - able to understand and prioritise issues as they arise and take appropriate, timely action.
