Project Design Engineer - Automation - Cheshire

£40,000 - £50,000

Our client is considered as experts in Material Handling, Industrial Automation and Software Solutions, dealing with many of the blue-chip FMCG and e-Commerce companies globally.

This is a new role due to our client acquiring exciting new contracts withsome of the biggest companies in the world to automate their warehouse processes, reporting directly to the Head of Operations.

Role Overview:

Development and detail engineering design of automation systems. Providing calculations and theory in support of system design analysis.
Provide Technical knowhow at client meetings, together with support in the preparation of quotations and offer documentation.
Providing general technical support (40%)
To be the technical "go to" person for the Sales team for automation solutions.
To project manage the delivery of smaller automation projects.
Detail engineer solutions, in respect of mechanical integration of equipment in automation systems, including building integration, access / egress, mezzanine platforms, support structures.
Support the electrical and controls team with detail engineering of control system solutions

Major Job Activities & Responsibilities:

Engage with Key suppliers in the preparation of solution designs.
Project manage the delivery of smaller automation projects from sales handover to customer take over.
Develop all relevant project documentation and implement project activity.
Supervise the onsite installation of automation.
Oversee commissioning, testing and fault finding automation components and systems.
Monitor progress of projects and keep the Engineering & Delivery Director appraised of the status of all work via regular, scheduled reporting and verbal updates.
Carry out site surveys to develop & validate automation solutions.
Develop the mechanical design of automation solutions.
Produce design drawings and documentation for automation systems designs.
Assist with developing sales proposals, quotations and relevant offer documentation.
Generate fully costed automation designs using AutoCAD and 3D models.
Provide technical support at client meetings.
Develop effective working relationships with all relevant personnel in order to foster a

- productive working atmosphere and a flexible team oriented workforce with a 'do it right first time' approach

To be right for this assignment you will need to have the following background:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
HNC/HND minimum.
Some working knowledge of accepted engineering drawing standards, e.g., BS308 or BS8888. Use of Autocad.
Demonstrable experience in both engineering and delivering solutions.
Solution orientated with excellent communications skills.
Can do attitude.
Willing to spend some time on client sites Able to get hands on.
Able to articulate a technical discipline to a nontechnical audience
