_ "MaPS (Money and Pensions Service) - a leader in financial wellbeing, have a need for a Digital Editor to join their growing digital content team on a permanent basis. You will be working for the money guidance area of the service, helping UK consumers find a way forward to manage their money in uncertain times or when they're facing major life events, supporting them to become more financially capable and confident about their situation. _

Our Digital Editor will contribute to the wider work of MoneyHelper, our consumer-facing money guidance and pensions service. As a key member of the editorial team, you'll be working with colleagues across MaPS, creating information and guidance for multiple digital channels, including our MoneyHelper website.

Job description:


In this role you will be responsible for the following;

  • Crafting compelling copy across multichannels in an authentic voice that resonates with our target audience, driving actions, engagement, linksharing and clickthrough to ultimately change customer behaviour towards increased financial capability and confidence.
  • Working effectively with colleagues and Strategy partners, stakeholders, project teams and advocates to plan activities and develop content to ensure high levels of support, engagement, and action from target audiences.
  • Contributing towards the support for appropriate social media opportunities such as online discussion forums, blogs and establishing conversations for the organisation that progress the aims of the Strategy.
  • Ensuring that style guides and templates are adhered to by partners and third parties.
  • Working with a digital production team to ensure that content is translated into Welsh and uploaded into the CMS in line with English content.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest developments in financial capability and money management and sharing knowledge with wider teams to improve consumer guidance.
  • Working with other digital team members as part of agile delivery teams to ensure that the website design and operation reflects the brand and ensuring that all tools, design activity and templates meet usability testing and relevant standards.
  • Carrying out web testing for new products or changes as required. Carrying out core content optimisation work when requested.
  • Adhering to the right workflow processes to ensure good governance and maintenance of guidance.
  • Working with the UX/UI and Product teams to ensure all core content works as part of the overall user journey, ensuring consistency of tone, messages, content, and brand values.
  • Where required, working with relevant outsourced elements effectively and in line with VFM requirements.
  • Monitoring and reporting on audience behaviour and interest trends; able to identify and escalate common 'hot button' issues, complaints, or praise from our audience.
Ensuring that usage rights are followed across platforms and markets and any technical issues are addressed.


Person specification:


You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

  • Proven expertise of successful written communications with an excellent journalistic style of writing, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to convey a complex message in a concise way across all digital platforms.
  • Experience of working in agile delivery teams
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, to juggle competing workloads.
  • Appreciation of different community behaviours and points of interest across those platforms and ability to monitor and identify hot button issues and suggest and implement tactical solutions.
  • A deep understanding of content design and customer journey mapping principles.
  • Solid experience of web technologies, current trends, and web standards.
  • Experience of Search engine optimisation (SEO), Google analytics/AEM analytics and social media monitoring tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, always ensuring accuracy and proven ability to search optimise own and others' copy.
  • An understanding of financial capability and the part it plays in improving people's ability to manage their money day to day and in the long term.
