We are recruiting for Senior Care Assistant on Day & Night Shifts at Cannock Specialist Care Centre.


Restful Homes Group - Cannock Specialist Care Centre is currently on the lookout for Senior Care Assistants at our beautiful new home based in Cannock.


Our Specialist Care Centre provides 89 spacious bedroom suites providing the highest quality of care to older residents of Cannock and the surrounding areas who require Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Specialist Dementia care with associated behaviours that challenge.

We also cater for older people with enduring Mental Health needs.


As a Senior Care Assistant, you need to be able to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Looking after the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs of the residents using a person-centred approach. To observe and promote the residents choice, independence, dignity, and privacy. To create and maintain good professional relationships with residents, relatives, and external professionals.


Specific Duties:


  • To ensure continuity of care to residents by promoting and delivering high standards of care, individually and safely, and supporting, demonstrating, and instructing less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care team.
  • Provides support and encouragement to Service users in all areas/activities of daily living.
  • Ensures the respect, dignity, and rights to privacy of service users as far as possible.
  • Contributes to the assessment of Service User's needs and the development of individualised plans of care and support, in consultation with Service Users, their relatives and the Care Team.
  • Conducts risk assessments with due regards to Service Users, Visitors and Staff.
  • Acts as a key worker for an identified Service User, or designated group.
  • Works with the care and support team to deliver high standards of service to achieve planned goals.
  • Undertakes supervisory tasks as required: coaches and supports less experienced staff and assists with the induction and orientation of new staff.
These duties are not exhaustive. Job holders may be asked to undertake other responsibilities, within their spheres of responsibility and competence.


All Shifts are as follows:


Days - 8am to 8pm

Nights - 8pm to 8am

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


  • Minimum NVQ level 2 in care or equivalent care qualification.
  • Willing to work towards NVQ level 3 in care.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in care and support setting.
  • Understands needs of Service User Group.
  • Specific service related experience may be required.

- providing care: 1 year (preferred)

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (required)
