This role sits in Treasury Finance reporting into Head of Financial Reporting providing a wide range of reporting for the Treasury activities, as well as providing critical business partnering which facilitate the Treasury activities.

The Assistant Manager role has a selection of responsibilities across the treasury portfolio financial reporting with responsibility to ensure accurate and robust accounting and report delivery, both internally to Senior Executives and externally via clientplc Annual Report and Accounts.

This role has shared team objectives to drive business deliverables with shared management responsibility for co-ordinating team activities to deliver consistently high-quality reporting, a strong controls environment and pro-active and value added businesspartnering to the Treasury business and to further internal stakeholders.

Active involvement in process improvement and a changing system environment is an important aspect of the role.

Analysis and delivery of IFRS reporting for a selection of the treasury and financial risk related disclosures in the published consolidated Annual Report and Accounts of National Grid Gas plc as well as for the other listed companies and sub groups. Thiswill include involvement and delivery of relevant treasury disclosures under UK GAAP for UK Operating and finance subsidiaries.
Delivery and management of the monthly analyses and proofs for allocated areas of the treasury business, which validate reported financial numbers and providing commentary.
Developing partnering relationships with UK based Treasury team, and core finance team
Provide proactive and innovative contributions to Treasury business (financing) initiatives, ("structured transaction" financing deals and tax projects,) as requested working with technical leads to advise on accounting and reporting implications and disclosuresas required under IFRS & UK GAAP.
Delivery of quality information from well managed and understood financial data. Maintaining the quality of the Internal Control and Sarbanes Control framework(s) for areas of responsibility, enhancing relevant documentation to meet the purposes of thechanging environment. Ensuring completion of SOX controls and documentation and efficient validation procedures
Proactive participation in treasury management system enhancements, maximising leverage and efficiencies from the system capabilities. Ensuring continuous improvement on business process and flexibility to meet changing demands from stakeholders. Managesuch ad hoc projects as required to leverage the TM system development and reporting tools and processes.
Oversight of analysis and verification for treasury information and disclosures as required for trading statements, interim and final result announcements, shareholder or bond circulars, and for UK regulatory (OFGEM) returns.
Proactive and enthusiastic team involvement to include technical and professional development discussions and direction of junior team members. Driving interactive and informative team meetings.
Maintain strong and professional external audit and internal auditor engagement, maintaining trusted relationships with clear communication channels
Graduate and ACA qualified accountant or equivalent and AMCT.
Good knowledge of current treasury related accounting standards including IFRS 9, IAS 39, IFRS 7, FRS 101 and 102.

Experience of derivative financial instruments together with relevant accounting and financial reporting
