For this position, you MUST have a Level 3 Childcare Qualification as required by the National Minimum Standards.We are looking for a Nursery Room Leader to join our setting based in Cardiff, Llanishen area.
We are registered for 40 children between ages years old and we offer full day care, wraparound, before + after school and holiday club.
Job Purpose
Working as a Nursery Room Leader, involves the ability to create good connections with children and staff.
As well to create a safe, positive environment, filled with joy and good energy, while respecting our policies and procedures.
Relationship with children
- You need to ensure a safe, happy and stimulating environment for children
- You'll need to create stimulating learning experiences and activities and plan them age appropriate
- Safeguard all children
- Keep accurate records of child development
- Being a "key person" for a group of children, ensuring that their care and development needs are being met at all times
- The curiosity to investigate alongside children all ages
- To love playing with children
- Be a positive role model for all children
- The ability to see the special and uniqueness of every child
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of children
Relationship with staff
- To be responsible for leading and managing the staff in your room
- Supporting, mentoring and coaching colleagues
- Be a dedicated team player, and valuing the experience and skills of your colleagues
- Continually striving to work together to deliver the very best care and education
- Supporting colleagues with empathy and care
- Acting as mentor to apprentices and other colleagues
Administration
- Assist the Nursery Manager in the smooth running of the setting
- Provide feedback to parents and carers
- Ensuring your room is consistently running to the highest standards
- Ensure all policies and procedures are strictly followed at all times
- Ensuring your room is consistently running to the requirements of CIW
- Carry out observations and next steps
- Supporting the effective running on the nursery by being organised, and have the ability to plan and prioritise your work
- Knowing and upholding our policies, procedures and established working practices
- Develop good communications with parents/carers ensuring that they are greeted on arrival and departure
- You'll be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check
