Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the creation and modification of small preproduction batches of new or modified products.
  • Support development engineers by providing manual soldering and handassembly of surface mount (down to 0402 case size) circuit board assemblies.
  • Point of contact for R&D CEMs and suppliers.
  • Fulfilment of BoMs for CEMs; procurement of parts and equipment as required by engineers.
  • Support development engineers as above by providing manual assembly skills such as drilling, tapping, gluing, cable preparation, etc.
  • Build one off jigs and wiring assemblies for engineers.
  • Complete set up and building of work and/or test benches.
  • Working with team to design, procure, prepare and ship trade show items including demos to meet tight deadlines.
  • Navigate and interpret schematic diagrams of electronic circuits and also PCB layout diagrams.
  • Transfer the knowledge acquired in prototype assembly to Senior Quality Engineer for the purpose of producing production documentation.
  • Building and IT maintenance. Including setting up new starters with equipment and IT and ad hoc tasks.
  • Knowledge of 5S methodology responsible for the electronics development area
  • EDA Library management create part symbols and footprints in Altium
  • Help maintain and repair production test rigs
  • Cable harness building skills
  • Has good crimping skills/ willing to learn to use new tools
  • Train nonskilled/ skilled operators
  • Order and main stock of commonly used parts
  • Design and build prototype/ test PCBs
  • Electronics parts procurement for Engineering team
  • Design review participate in peer review/ DFMEA/ PFMEA

Key skills/experience required:

  • At least 3 years' experience as an electronics technician
  • Handson experience with electronic testing and circuitry
  • Familiarity working with various tolls and equipment
  • Ms Office and diagnostic software (e.g., PC based)
  • Excellent physical condition and handeye coordination
  • Certification in engineering or electronics is required
