Children & Families Service Outreach Worker / Support Officer

Tower Hamlets

£18/hr

Responsible for providing a comprehensive administrative support service to: one sleep counsellor who needs assistant to document all aspects of direct work with parents, families and children, supporting virtually through "team software" when working fromhome and occasionally to support with families homes, schools, community settings.

this is needed due to support worker being registered disabled and needs support with taking notes, documentation, physical assistance in community locations.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Undertaking a broad range of administrative tasks to support the Sleep Counsellor to complete his role effectively. Including typing, composing documents and correspondence, recording notes on mosaic, typing session notes during online assessment sessions.
  • Maintaining local IT systems and data bases which support the administrative and finance functions, including Excel spreadsheets to maintain an accurate case log of families being worked with or on the waiting list.
  • Ensuring compliance with procedures; standing orders and financial regulations as appropriate.
  • Ensuring compliance with standards and performance indicators relating to the evaluation of the Service through User/referrer feedback and audit.
  • Making amendments and adjustments to reports produced via the Dragon Dictates software package for voice recognition (used by the Sleep Counsellor)
  • Supporting Sleep counsellor to attend team meetings. Including meeting at taxi, carrying equipment, supporting access to building, and support with any IT engagement in team meeting.
  • Documenting home visits, telephone conversations, Team meetings and specific training events plus documenting
- school visits/observations and Planning, Partnership and Review meetings between professionals, parents and children. Maintaining appropriateadministrative systems in accordance and compliance with local policy and procedures

  • Developing and maintaining relevant computer filing / archiving systems and procedures. Keeping all notes safe whilst carrying out visits within the community.
  • Documenting a range of meetings case network, Planning, Partnership and Review, school, Child in Need reviews/meetings and groups including invitations; venues
- taking notes to document the discussion and decisions/agreed action plans.


Requirements:


  • Basic Education Literate and numerate to a level at which forms, basic statistics, correspondence and filing systems can be understood and work arising from these can be progressed.
  • Good IT skills.

Experience:


  • Experience or ability in supporting people with additional needs.
  • Experience of operating office and information systems.
  • Experience of working in a multi racial environment and equal opportunities.
  • Experience of relevant software packages e.g. EXCEL WORD.
  • Inputting data, interrogating and extracting reports from the Departments' Mosaic and other IT systems

Skills:


  • Ability to use Microsoft teams, be able to spend prolonged periods on virtual calls.
  • The ability to support sleep counsellor and work independently as and when required.
  • The ability to display an understanding of providing an administrative and support service within an equal opportunities environment
  • Ability to support sleep counsellor with specific projects which demand flexibility and creative thinking

  • Ability to liaise with a wide range of employees within the directorate, across the council, and external agencies.
