Job DescriptionJ

  • To assist in the direct care provision of all aspects of the service users assessed needs, which may include: assisting residents in washing, dressing and undressing, ensuring the resident is consulted in their choice of clothing, etc. and all aids are in place such as glasses and hearing aids, etc
  • To participate in the basic nursing care of the residents under the supervision of trained staff e.g. bed bathing, pressure area care, mouth care, and eye care.
  • To assist the residents with their toileting needs, including continence promotion.
  • To change beds, tidy residents' rooms and do light cleaning, to empty aids, where appropriate.
  • To assist with problems with mobility; including those of mobility aids, where appropriate.
  • To help in the serving of meals and drinks, assisting those residents who are unable to feed themselves and ensuring that each resident receives the meal or diet that he/she has requested and is suitable for his/her needs.
  • To help with the admission and discharge of residents, including listing of resident's property/clothing on admission to be documented in the care plan.
  • To convey relevant information about the service users to the nurse in charge, in order that their individual plan of care may be regularly updated and appropriate care given, paying particular attention to any changes observed in the service users physical or psychological condition.
  • To assist in weighing of residents, attend to keywork duties and participate in activities.
  • To comply with all mandatory training required of the post and update online training when due. Read company policies and procedures and comply with these and be aware of what is expected of the role.
  • To register and maintain SSSC registration and work towards meeting the conditions of your registration if applicable.
  • To make your manager aware of any reason why you may no longer be suitable to work with a vulnerable group, i.e. changes in your PVG status.
  • To attend staff meetings when requested and actively participate in promoting the good name of the company.
