Our client is looking to recruit a Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Director on ensuring day to day activities are completed in a timely manner.
This is an excellent opportunity to be across the breadth of the finance transactional function and offersgreat development. You will be part of an experienced Finance team and have full support of the business.Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:
Purchase Ledger
- Process supplier invoices
- Process staff expenses
- Prepare supplier payment runs
- Deal with supplier queries
- Reconcile the suppliers' statement for payment
- Ensure that all suppliers accounts are settled
- Credit control, chasing debts, ensuring all customers' accounts are settled
- Ensure all sales invoices and payments are reported daily to the bank
- Post and allocate customer cash received
- Deal with customer queries
- Follow up for resolution of customer debit notes
- Carry out regular credit checks on new and existing customers
- Prepare Aged Debtors report
- Record and update Credit request report
- Send statements to customers
- Prepare ad hoc reports for sales team
- Maintain and reconcile the bank accounts
- Quarterly VAT Reconciliation and Returns
- Posting & reconciling all petty cash transactions
- Maintaining daily cashbook spreadsheet & ensuring it reconciles to accounting system
- Ensure all filing is done in a timely and accurate manner
- Experience of Microsoft Excel & Word
- Basic numeracy skills.
