The key duties of this Head of Technical Accounting role include:

  • Provide expert guidance on all accounting matters aligned with IFRS standards.
  • Develop and maintain the Group Accounting Policies taxonomy to establish clear guidelines.
  • Implement an effective mechanism to ensure Groupwide compliance with accounting policies.
  • Coordinate and deliver relevant technical training to country teams to enhance their expertise.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and provide comprehensive reports on the development of accounting standards, including their potential impact on the Group.
  • Take the lead in addressing technical matters with Group auditors, covering areas such as PPE Impairment, Goodwill Impairment, Provisions, Sharebased Payments, Acquisition Accounting, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16 standards.
  • Provide essential support for monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The key
requirements for this role include:

  • ACA/ICAEW/ACCA Fully Qualified
  • This client is ideally looking for a first time mover from an audit firm at an Audit Manager level or above
  • Strong understanding of complex accounting standards, in particular IFRS 15 and 1
  • Strong communication skills
  • Process improvement driven personality
