Based:
Scotland - Hybrid, Around 1-2 Days per month in the office


Salary:

An exceptional career move & exciting challenge to join this fast-growth Global Consulting Practice and help make a difference in the shaping of Clients Cloud Transformation projects & the Networking Infrastructure of on-premise and Cloud AWS, OCI, Azure, GCP for Data management and Enterprise Project delivery etc.

You will be leading a small team of 6-8 Linux & Windows Engineers to lead the migration of Cloud Services and automation needs for the Managed Services team.

This will be a mix of Projects and 4th Line Systems Administration escalation for Linux & Windows support with the Delivery Teams and Architects to provide solutions across cloud platforms and provide robust secure networks for major Organisations where Security Clearance is needed.

Great, if you are SC already or lapsed or you will need to be a British Citizen or be able to be Security Cleared fairly quickly.


Key responsibilities involve:


You will provide daily people-management and guidance work closely with the Delivery teams and architects and other Engineers to take Projects from SOW Presales stage through to delivery and handover to managed services, production support and take ownership to resolve Cloud issues in a "hands on" way.

Working with the Team to coach and lead them and up-skill in the areas needed and deliver on multiple cloud projects etc.

Good experience of virtualisation platforms such as VMWare, XEN, OVM/KVM etc. and be used to dealing with multiple Client environments and needs.


Ideal Profile:


  • 8+ years in Technical Infrastructure projects and support including 4 years in leading a Team of Linux & Windows Cloud Engineers.
  • Excellent track record of leading technical needs for delivery of the Network and Infrastructure for Cloud with Team and Support with the Service Delivery Team.
  • Excellent relevant experience with Cloud migrations and Infrastructure as a Service etc. IaaS, PaaS along with the networking requirements, LAN, WAN, VPN's etc. with Linux support skills and "hands on" scripting skills such as PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python etc.
  • Security Cleared or can be processed fairly quickly. Working with the Government departments, Financial Services etc.
  • Good experience with working with DBA's running in one of the following public clouds
  • Oracle OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure. Windows ecosystems, Active Directory, VBS etc.
  • Experience in dealing with customers and discussing Cloud concepts and build etc. such as Technical Cloud Engineer or Technical Account Manager or Senior Engineer or solutions architect.
  • An understanding of methods and tooling for assessing cloud readiness.
  • Systems Automation experience like Ansible, Terraform or similar.
  • Networking expertise in a range covering: DNS, VPNs, WAN & LAN, switching, load balancing and firewalls for both Cloud and onpremise.
  • Ability to present complex concepts clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Enthusiasm for "hands on" learning and a desire to understand new technologies and solving business problems.
  • Understanding or experience of continuous development and working with Dev/Ops etc.
  • Working with Cloud Security issues etc.

Advantageous experience:


  • Any Experience with SQL Server, Oracle Databases, Postgres/MySQL etc.
  • Experience with middleware like Tomcat, JBoss etc.
  • Working in Agile or Scaled Agile could be useful.

Salary:
£80,000.00-£85,000.00 per year
