Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experiencedHealthcare Assistant to support a 6-year-old boy through the night in
Plymouth.
This young boy is a very lively character. He likes watching TV, playing with his siblings, enjoys playing football when he can, and being cheeky to mum.
He was born prematurely at 26 weeks and has been diagnosed with ataxic cerebral palsy, global development delay and significant neuro disability.
He struggles to gain weight as he has a poor feed tolerance - jejunal fed self-gratification. Struggles with chronic constipation and requires ongoing dietician input. He is fed via jejunostomy for 22-24 hrs a day including overnight.It is a very busy household with 7 children and 5 dogs.
The dogs are of a small breed and will be in their crates overnight on a separate floor to when the carer will be on shift.
The family are keen to build a strong team and very grateful for the support. They want to keep it as a family home environment as much as possible.You will be working 1:1
You need to be an experienced carer.
It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs.
You will get all the training you need to work on this package.
You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will include shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent.Training is paid for.
Pay Rates:

£13.
80 p/hr Monday - Thursday:

£14.05 p/hr Friday:

£16.
05 p/hr Saturday - Sunday:

£19.05 p/hr Bank Holidays
Shifts:
10pm - 8am, 5 nights a week available.
For consistency a minimum availability of 2 nights a week would be preferable. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are nights/times you are unable to work.
It's vital that we have staff consistency and so you will be required to pick up a minimum number of shifts.

Full mileage paid from home to this location in Plymouth up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.
