    Description

    At Line Up Aviation, we are seeking a skilled Safety Engineer to join our team on an initial 12-month contract. Based in Stevenage or Bristol, this full-time role offers a competitive salary of £60 per hour (umbrella company basis) and requires SC clearance prior to commencement.

    The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety aspects of one of our technically complex products. This involves optimizing the effort devoted to safety assurance while balancing safety against lethal attributes required by complex weapon systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver safety analysis and assurance for product integration onto various platforms.
    • Liaise with stakeholders to define safety boundaries and business safety claims.
    • Lead the production and evolution of Safety Management Plans and deliver required safety analyses.
    • Hazard management, risk analysis, including fault tree and event tree analyses.
    • Integrate hazard analysis with system engineering to influence design.
    • Construct safety arguments and contribute to ALARP statements and authoring of Safety Cases Reports.
    • Support internal and external project Safety Panels and Committees.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Thorough understanding of DEF-STAN 00-056 and ability to write Safety Management Plans that meet its requirements.
    • Good verbal, written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Detailed electronic engineering experience is highly desirable (education to degree or HND level preferred).

    Estimated Salary: £60 per hour (based on location and industry standards)
