An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
1st Line Support Engineer to join a progressive and well-established business based at
Stansted Airport within the aviation sector.


The Role of IT 1st Line Support Engineer

  • Provide first line IT support for all inbound requests and escalating to 2nd/3rd line where required
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with laptops, desktops, mobile phones and printers
  • Identify and troubleshoot network issues
  • Maintaining user accounts via Active Directory
  • Undertake PC/Laptop builds with OS and software deployment via SCCM and PDQ
  • Administering, monitoring and patching Microsoft Servers in a VMware ESXi virtual environment
  • Develop solutions database to aide end user selfservice support
  • Identifying and recommending any improvements to existing support procedures
  • Where required, work closely with external providers to ensure any support requirements are delivered to assist with call resolution
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technologies

To be Considered for the role of IT 1st Line Support Engineer

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server, Exchange Admin, Windows 10, Office 365, Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/Group Policy, SCCM, WSUS, Microsoft Data Protection Manager, Networks, Printers and Multi-Functional Devices
  • Knowledge of ITIL Framework and GDPR and UK Data Protection legislation would be desirable
  • You will need to have the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and internal customers
  • You should have good problemsolving skills and have previous experience of working within a customer focussed environment
  • Excellent communication skills both spoken and written
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • The role involves being on an out of hours oncall rota which you must be happy to be part of. The rota is 1 week out of 5 and on call hours are 5pm to 9am each evening and the weekends. Out of hours support is primarily remote although if the issue requiresonsite support this would be expected

A driving licence and own transport is essential as the role involves driving to other bases from time to time

Salary To £30,000 pa + on call allowance of £1,560 per annum + overtime paid for actual hours worked if any calls are taken.
