We are currently recruiting for a talented Chartered Fire Engineer to join retrofit specialists based in Glasgow to join their growing team.

Our client operates UK wide and this role will be focused on external walls and cladding projects across the UK.Our client is one of the leading firms dealing with a range of large clients.


The business is looking for a Chartered Fire Engineer, a Member of the Institute of the Fire Engineers to assist their highly skilled surveying department in completing client issued reports commenting on the holistic safety of properties, following theidentification of internal and external wall materials.


The successful Chartered Fire Engineer will be confident and proficient in commenting on/ considering changes to fire strategy and interim measures following review of building provisions and fire risk assessments as well as confident in managing a widerteam.


Chartered Fire EngineerPosition Overview

  • Work on a range of exciting large scale projects, taking a lead role
  • Quality assurance of installation of fire stopping and cladding
  • Undertake on site inspection
  • Lead a team of professionals
  • Writing of Fire Strategy Reports
  • Report writing
  • Fire engineering reports
  • Site inspection / visits

Chartered Fire EngineerPosition Requirements

  • Experience in Fire Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Fire Engineer or Fire Risk Assessor
  • Recognised as a credible fire expert within the industry
  • Chartered member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or working towards.
  • Able to manage a team
  • Understanding of design/construction process
  • Degree in Engineering (Where relevant)
Should want to work towards or be a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers

  • Good knowledge of UK legislation and design guidance
  • Be able to work as a team player / independently at times
