Please note that this is a fixed-term post for 1 year.
Role description
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about dementia and education and development.
Key areas of outputs over the one year will be based around the following:
- Implement Enhanced Care Observation, (ECO) framework to all scheduled and unscheduled ward settings in the BGH.
- Effective and timely review of care needs and regular review in conjunction with psychiatric liaison team
- Care planning through assessment, Timely interventions and evaluation. Care coordination and implementation of required clinical interventions
- Education on dementia standards with caseload
- Physical causes of presentations identified, with effective and timely interventions
- Strategies to reduce stress and distress symptoms adopted and effective meaningful engagement.
Essential and desirable qualifications
- All applicants must be qualified healthcare professionals, with post registration experience, working within NHS Borders.
- Evidence of dementia education is essential and the dementia champion programme and Dementia Specialist Improvement leader would be desirable.
