The Patient Booking Service is a Trust wide centralised admin team handling referral, outpatient appointment booking and reception services. We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Coordinator within our Booking teams.

Summary of most important Experience/Skills/Qualifications required:

You will have experience of supporting and leading a team in a busy patient-facing role (telephone and/or face to face), the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, a good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft packages, ideally within an NHS / Healthcare environment, able to deal with pressure and unexpected demands, as well as managing potential challenging situations involving patients and/or staff.


You must be flexible and be prepared to provide management support services at BRI / SLH / outreach facilities if needed.

The job holder will provide administrative and clerical support across the service.

This includes supporting the Team Manager in monitoring and managing teamwork flows, dealing with queries, telephony, referral registration, booking appointments, booking patient transport and interpreters and updating our Electronic Patient Record as necessary.

The job holder will also deputise for the Team Manager in their absence.

The job holder will deal with telephone calls from the public, staff, and other Health Care Providers and have extensive involvement with Clinicians and Service Managers across the Trust.
