Staff Power Group are currently looking for a Shift Supervisor for a client of ours in Seaham. Our client are one of the
biggest cheese processors in the whole of the UK. They are a
dairy processing company specialising in cheese used predominantly for pizzas.

Working Hours - 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm


Firm Contribution

  • To make the fullest contribution to the Company at large.
  • Always Lead by example when it comes down to the fundamentals of the production area (For example health & safety, hygiene, and housekeeping)
  • The control and supervision of the production team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures relevant to the area
  • Identify & resolve any issues relating to the running of a shift, and escalating any issues as necessary to the relevant manager / department
  • A general positive can do attitude to all tasks
  • Flexible for overtime requirements and holiday cover of other supervisors

Role Requirements

  • Leading by example at all times
  • Maintain a high level of quality throughout the process keeping in line with all hygiene standards as well as meeting all HSE regulations.
  • Sustaining all housekeeping and hygiene tasks as required as part of the role.
  • Assisting with training out and monitoring of new production processes and contributing to continuous improvement within the business.
  • Looking at how to reduce waste, offering suggestions on improvements.
  • Working closely with the maintenance department to deal with any planned or unplanned tasks required, minimising production downtime.
  • Supervising the work of all of your team, highlighting those with strengths and directing those with areas to improve.
  • Helping the Production Management team to keep all training documents and matrixes updated, as well as briefing out any relevant information provided.
  • Always utilising staffing available to get the best from any shift under their control.
  • Learning, coaching and guiding your Line Technicians to move to the next level to Cover Shift Supervisors.
  • Understanding expected run rates, targets and all KPI's the Production Management team has set relating to performance.
  • Work closely with the Line Technicians to ensure that each of them is clear with their plan for the shift, adherence to the production plan and action taken if time constraints on orders will not be met.
  • Handover with incoming / outgoing Production supervisor with all relevant information and results from previous shifts production also highlighting any key issues which may hinder the current plan for orders,
  • Be part of a production process delivering Quality, Consistency and Service to our customers.
  • Strong ability to engage, motivate and lead at all times, with the ability to provide conflict resolution and deescalation of difficult situations.
  • Experience in supervising and leading a diverse and dynamic team.
  • Experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment relating to food.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of good hygiene practices (Any formal training desirable).
  • Food safety training minimum level 2 and knowledge of HACCP (accredited HACCP training desirable but not required).

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£26,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
