Description
William Hulme's Grammar School is a highly successful all-through school in South Manchester. It is extremely popular and oversubscribed, with an inclusive and diverse community.

Following a long and distinguished history as a Grammar School, William Hulme's has made a successful transition into the state sector since the move to academy status in 2007, retaining the best of its independent school ethos whilst simultaneously expanding and modernising its facilities and curriculum.

In recent years, it has expanded significantly with a new purpose-built Primary Phase, a brand new Sixth Form Centre and a refurbished Science Centre.

With the retirement of the current Principal at the end of this academic year, a new Principal has been appointed and we are now seeking a Head of Secondary Phase to join the Senior Leadership Team.

William Hulme's Grammar School is a good school (OFSTED 2019) and we believe that it can become a truly exceptional school.

We aspire to being one of the country's most admired schools - for depth of scholarship, for sporting, musical and extra-curricular success and for preparing young people for extraordinary success in life.

Working alongside the Principal, the Head of Secondary School will have a vision of that exceptional school and the ability to achieve it - bringing a track record of excellence in educational practice, in leadership, in motivating and inspiring colleagues and in achieving positive change.

For the right person who can see the potential, this is a career-defining opportunity to write the next chapter in the distinguished history of one of Manchester's great schools.

We highly recommend you visit the school where we can show you around. Please contact Jane Carter at to do so.
