We are looking to recruit an ambitious and enthusiastic
Technical Engineer who ideally has a technical background in the construction industry to join our Technical Services Team based at our flagship branch in Manchester to provide a rangeof technical services and support to both customers and SIG Distribution sales colleagues.

What does the role involve?
As a
Technical Engineer, you'll deliver a range of quality
technical services to internal and external customers in line with the wider business strategy.
- This will mean calculating
Uvaluesand providing
building regulation and technical guidance.In addition, you'll undertake
Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) energy performance calculations to assess emissions and value engineer the specification to help secure the
procurement of construction materials.
You will build relationships with Sales Managers and customers, increasing sales revenue and margin and customer retention for existing and new customers.
We will ensure
extensive training is provided in building performance and product knowledge from all facets of SIG which are applicable to SIG Technical Services, in addition to training which will eventually lead to
you becoming a qualified On-Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) to produce SAP/EPC certificates.
- A background in
construction or indepth technical knowledge: - An individual who has previously studied a
construction or built environment course, or direct experience of working within this sector - Extremely good
attention to detail, a determination to
deliver work to a high quality and having previously worked with
CAD software:
Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a
teamor

- The ability to
prioritiseyour workload and
work well under pressure ensuring you meet all deadlines
Excellent communication and
customer service skills with the ability to deal with internal and external customers and suppliers
- A good level of
numeracy and strong knowledge of Microsoft software training will be provided on other applicable software
