Role

We believe our product is great, but there is always room for improvement We are looking for an experienced UI/UX developer ready to take the next step of leading our product's user interface and experience to give it the love and attention it deserves.

Main Responsibilities
As a company that prioritises personal development, we hope to see you growing your role with us over time.

Initially however, your core responsibilities would be:

  • To conceptualise, define and implement improvements to the UI and UX.
  • To manage updates to the UI and introduce standards to guarantee their quality and consistency.
  • To work with the product team collecting data and feedback to suggest improvements to the UX.
  • To draw on experience and industry standards to ensure UI/UX updates are scalable and to a continuously high standard.

Key Skills

The following skillset is essential for this role:

  • An understanding of UI/UX standards and principles
  • We need you to tell us how we should be building our interfaces. For example, using the Hooked model, web content accessibility guidelines and other industry recognised processes to guide your suggestions.
  • Exposure to datadriven decision making
  • You will need to reason your proposals with qualitative and quantitative supporting evidence (we manage our metrics with Pendo and Microsoft Power BI).
  • Experience with quality control processes
  • You will need to ensure user interface updates meet our standards; we use GitHub to version control all our releases. To further improve these standards, you will need to be familiar with testing techniques andtools.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with user interface frameworks
  • You will need to ensure our interfaces are consistent and mockup proposed changes efficiently. A background with Figma, Adobe or similar tool for creating prototypes would help here.
  • Practical software development skills
  • You will be implementing proposed changes to the user interface. This means you need CSS, HTML and JavaScript/jQuery skills, but ideally also experience with an objectorientated programming language and APIs in orderto be able to fully implement your changes. We use a Microsoftbased technology stack (C#, SQL, IIS, Azure).

  • Teamwork and communication

  • You will need strong communication skills and a high standard of written English to work with other team members remotely who are sometimes in other countries. Knowing when to share your workload with others and when to askfor help matters.

Values
In a small company, personalities come to the fore and it's an aspect we very much encourage at RightMarket.

We need you to make our team stronger by sharing your thoughts, speaking up when you don't understand something and challenging other team members'ideas.

Since the pandemic, we have permanently switched to working from home full time, and we don't currently foresee going back to an office.

Although we speak to each other online daily, working remotely does require a certain level of self-discipline, focusand honesty.

Taking ownership of the UI and UX requires dedication and responsibility, you will need the motivation to see a project through from start to finish, but also the ambition and reasoned thinking to propose projects that will make the biggest impact.
