As a Multi Skilled Engineer within a Pharmaceutical company you will support the Engineering Department with breakdowns, PPM and general maintenance.

This challenging role requires a minimum of three years' experience and will ideally suit an Electricalbiased Engineer with FMCG/Manufacturing background.

Multi Skilled Engineer responsibilities include:
Under the guidance of the Engineering Shift Leader, the role holder is responsible for supporting the engineering function.

This will be through ensuring that maintenance activities and improvement projects related to facilities and equipment are executed toschedule and budget and in compliance with relevant codes and within the spirit of our values.


Key Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Work with line management to investigate equipment/plant failures and identify means to prevent a recurrence.
  • Be an active team member on continuous improvement projects bringing about improvements in working practices to eliminate waste and reduce variation.

Customer:

  • To maintain close liaison with other departments offering specialist involvement when required.
  • Ensure that the daily schedule is met by attending breakdowns in a timely manner, and resolving issues effectively.
work with the team and line management to deliver improved productivity.

Process:

  • Ensure that all activities within the engineering function are undertaken to established standards of cGMP.
  • Ensure that all activities within the engineering function are undertaken in accordance with the relevant Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Ensure that incidents/deviations are brought to the attention of line management.
  • Contribute to incident/deviation investigations to allow appropriate root cause analysis to be completed.

People:

Specific Departmental Functions

  • Responsible for Health and Safety of self and other employees.
  • Ensure that all Risk Assessments required for your area are completed and regularly reviewed and actions arising delivered in a timely manner.
  • Accountable for performing job tasks in a safe manner and complying with internal and external EHS requirements, policies, and programmes.
  • Actively support Self-Inspections, action planning and followup.
  • Ensure all Incidents/Accidents are treated seriously, reported and actions implemented to prevent a recurrence.
  • Maintains good knowledge of relevant governance, SOP's and ways of working.
  • Assists with the writing of new engineering SOPs
  • Responsible for providing timely and accurate delivery of outputs.

Additional Role Requirements:

  • Ability to read technical operating and maintenance manuals;
  • Efficiently respond to questions from managers and colleagues;

Qualifications, skills & experience needed:
Education / Professional Memberships

  • Multi skills trained preferably as part of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Electrical biased preferred with a minimum of C&G/BTec in an electrical discipline.
  • IEE Electrical regulations.
Specific Experience Required

  • Significant experience of maintenance engineering, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • A working knowledge of some or all of the following ;
  • Sterile manufacturing and filling processes
  • Particle inspection equipment
  • Automated Container integrity test equipment

Labelling equipment:

  • Bottle filling equipment
  • Cartoning equipment
  • Thermoformer based packaging lines
  • Operation of PLC based equipment
  • Pumps/motors & Mechanical drives
  • Electrical drives and basic electrical diagnostics
  • Process pipework and systems
  • Autoclaves/Sterilising Ovens
  • Knowledge and experience of working in GMP classified areas
  • Completion of engineering and GMP documentation to required standards

Package:

  • Salary circa 44k plus annual bonus and attractive pension scheme.
