part-time opportunity for an experienced
Underwriting Specialist to join our dynamic and growing Operations team in
Uxbridge.

You will be working within an established team as a key part of Pepper Advantage's Operations Department.

Day-to-day, this Underwriting Specialist role will involve being responsible for the processing and underwriting of residential and buy-to-let contractvariation requests and liaising with customers and third-parties through regulatory calls and correspondence.


As an Underwriting Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • ensuring all new Contract Variation requests have the required documentation as per policy and criteria
- assessing credit reports, proof of income, bank statements, and any other relevant supporting documentation to build an accurate before and after income and expenditure assessment for each customer
- being able to explain and evidence the outcome rationale for each individual decision made
- meeting all agreed SLAs for underwriting Contract Variation requests
- proactively managing own case pipeline effectively, prioritising risk averse or complaint cases and ensuring accurate data is reported as required to management and senior management level
- understanding and adhering to the Responsible Lending Policy and CV Underwriting Manual
- meeting all required internal and external Risk and TCF frameworks

Essential Skills:


  • Previous underwriting experience
  • Strong English verbal and written skills
  • Selfreliant and selfmotivated
  • Detailorientated and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • An understanding of residential mortgages
  • To preferably hold, or be working towards, CeMap 1, 2 and 3
