Salary Range:
£85,000 - £95,000 dependent on experience


Job purpose


A member of the Picturehouse Senior Management Team, this new role will focus on the maintenance and growth of revenue strands across the business with Line Management responsibility for Events, Retail and Membership.

With a remit covering pricing and market analysis, the Head of Commercial will work to ensure we are competitively placed within the industry to drive commercial success, growth and profitability.


Main duties

  • Develop, implement and maintain a commercial strategy which is aligned with Company goals across all revenue streams
  • Work closely with all stakeholders and alongside analysis to identify areas for revenue growth and areas for new opportunities
  • Analyse data ongoing to identify trends and monitor performance to ensure revenue targets and met and exceeded where achievable
  • Explore new business partnerships working alongside Head of Sponsorship & Partnership
  • Identify and develop new agreements with suppliers and partners. Working closely with procurement to negotiate and agree any contracts
  • Oversee supply chain and selection for all Retail products and work to ensure products are innovative, profitable and highquality; in line with brand values
  • Utilising data analysis and market surveys, ensure pricing structures are regularly reviewed and competitive to drive maximum profitability
  • Drive, manage and grow Membership revenue as a core strand of the business functionality and profitability
  • Foster a culture of commercial understanding and success across all areas of Picturehouse Cinemas
  • Grow B2B. Ensuring collaboration with the Cineworld Corporate Sales team where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with all internal stakeholders across Picturehouse and, where relevant, Cineworld Cinemas

Collaborations

  • Marketing
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure any new initiatives or current activity has suitable promotional campaigns; allowing adequate lead times for maximum effectiveness


  • Operations

  • Collaborate with Operations on identifying any revenue shortcomings or opportunities for improvement and growth. Work to ensure rollout and best practices are followed, costs are controlled, the cinemas maximise revenue and all results are reviewed and analysed.


  • Sponsorship

  • Collaborate with Sponsorship and Partnerships team on the retail and ticketing elements of proposed sponsorship campaigns to ensure they are driving maximum profitability for the business

H&S - You will

  • Adhere to all H&S policies and procedures, with a 'Spot it, Sort it' approach
  • Work efficiently using all pieces of equipment (you have been trained on) correctly and with care
  • Inform management immediately of any breaches or issues within Health & Safety

Person Specifications - Experience and Attributes

Experience

  • Previous experience in a senior commercial position
  • A track record of successful commercial management
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans to drive change
  • A background in retail (preferably multisite)
  • Proven ability to grow sales, improve profitability and develop commercial success
  • Demonstrable knowledge:
- of how to determine pricing,
- of sales and financial analysis
- of forecasting and budgeting
- of identifying market trends

  • Knowledge and understanding of the operational requirements within a complex retail business (preferable multisite)
  • Data analysis

Attributes

  • An absolute cando attitude and the ability to think and work creatively when faced with problems to solve
  • The ability to coach and persuade where and when necessary
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A drive to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders

Desirable

  • A knowledge of and interest in film
