Description

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsibility for machining work for the Vehicle Development Workshop.
  • Work closely with members of the Vehicle Development build team to build highquality, reliable prototype vehicles, bucks and rigs for effective test and development of new vehicle technologies.
  • Coordinate simultaneous work requests in an effective manner, managing conflicting priorities to tight deadlines.
  • Work additional hours during the weekend and possibly weekends as required beyond the stated core hour day to maintain work request, and project schedules.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Extensive milling and turning experience of one off or small batch parts using both CNC and manual Mill, and Lathe.
  • Knowledge of motor vehicle architecture and operation is a distinct advantage but not essential.
  • Preferred experience of working with the up to date metallic and composite materials used in the highperformance vehicle and, or aerospace industries.
  • Good degree of computer literacy, including the use of CAD systems for engineering drawing viewing.
  • Engineering based Apprenticeship training giving a competency in general engineering workshop skills.
