Job description

Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 12 Months

Are you passionate about the creation of well-designed places for residents and visitors in Leicester?

Leicester is an exciting and enjoyable place to live and work. It has a rich history and a wonderful built and natural environment. It is a rapidly growing economy in a strategic position in the country. As a result, it has a growing national and international profile.

We have an ambitious Council focussed on delivery and managing change and growth. We aim to proactively plan to help shape the city over the next 17 years and beyond.

Balancing the need for new high-quality homes and jobs against the need to protect the townscape, heritage and green environment and Leicester's unique character and diversity.

We are now embarking on an exciting new phase of regeneration and placemaking, at the heart of our new Local Plan and future vision.

Join us and you'll make a valuable contribution to our Planning Service; a service that brings together Development Management, Strategic Planning, Urban Design, and other specialists.

We work closely with the Councils' Regeneration, Housing and Highways Teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and creative Planner to play a key role in our well-established department and make a difference to shape our city.

This is a full-time, fixed term position working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. With hybrid working, you'll have the flexibility to work from City Hall and from home.
