As a Barclays Data Governance Lead, you will have an exciting opportunity to ensure Group Data Management Standards are being managed and governed across the UK business.
Your responsibilities include working across business and customer journeys to understand, assess and capture the various data points, the risks associated with them and elicit controls requirements.
You will also be working together with Business SMEs, Operations, Architects and Technology. Combining business knowledge with a high capacity for analyzing data.

Working Flexibly
What will you be doing?:
- Identifying the data capture points across customer journeys and business processes
- Interpreting key business data sets and identifying the criticality and quality of this data
- Analyzing data and associated business processes to elicit data related risks and issues
- Identifying control weaknesses, establish a solid feedback loop
- Supporting business intelligence and process Optimisation strategies with quantitative analysis
- Feeding in the data control and risk mitigation requirements to the relevant delivery teams
What we're looking for:
- Working and practical understanding of data analysis concepts and experience in data management capabilities including Data Lineage and Data Definition
- Broad understanding of Retail banking and Financial Services
- Broad knowledge in Change Management, Process Excellence, Project Management and functional experience in Data Analysis
- Experience in shaping and driving scoping and prioritization discussions where possible specifically in data elements or attributes based on criticality or materiality
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Comprehensive understanding of and or experience in other data related capabilities including Data Architecture and Data Analytics
- Working knowledge and understanding of SQL queries and SQL driven data analysis
- Proven industry experience of working in a CDO function on Data Quality and Issues Management and Remediation
- Broad understanding of tools and assets used within the industry to manage data quality and measures
Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford.
The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command Centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
