Description

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the services within the Specialist Services Network Care Group in planning, managing and reporting their financial position.


This will include supporting the Service Accountant with the preparation of the month end financial position to meet reporting deadlines.

They will be required to produce monthly reports, answer queries and liaise with budget holders and other Finance staff.


They must be able to manage workload such that all deadlines are met, whilst completing work to a high standard, allowing for appropriate review and amendment by senior management before documents are disseminated outside the finance department.

This will include supporting the Service Accountant with the preparation of the month end financial position to meet reporting deadlines.

37.5hrs per week, flexible, Monday to Friday, working from home 3 days per week.

  • Ensure monthly budget adjustments and journal entries,
including payroll adjustments, are input into the General
Ledger system in accordance with the budgetary timetable.

  • Investigate and answer queries from client departments
regarding financial information by using the enquiry facilities
associated with the General Ledger system, ESR and other
relevant sources.

  • Maintenance of records appropriate to the Trust's budgetary
reporting systems

  • Assist in the annual budget setting process.
  • Assist in the monthly forecasting process.
  • Maintain monthly analysis of key lines of income and
expenditure.

  • Complete the monthly recharges through the General Ledger
system.

  • Day to day maintenance of the approved budget holder list
and authorised signatory list.

  • Input information from source documents into the computer
system.

  • Locate and retrieve recorded details of requested items from
the computer system.

  • Generate and print standard reports on the computer system.
  • Obtain non routine information from the computerized
Management Information System.

  • Produce spreadsheets for the analysis of numerical
information.

  • Assist in the production of accurate monthly budgetary
information.

  • Undertake regular and ad hoc financial and manpower related
analysis, presenting the results in a clear and relevant
fashion, as guided by the line manager.

  • To produce and distribute regular monthly reports from
various management information systems in addition to
monthly budget statements.

  • To maintain flexible and team working approach, assisting
colleagues as required.

  • Comply with Trust policy on Health and Safety and

  • To undertake other duties as directed by the line manager.
  • To provide cover during periods of absence

so by an appropriate Trust manager.
