    Customer Services Assistant Role

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Customer Services Assistant to join our team at Epping and North Weald Libraries. This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours per week, including Saturdays.

    The ideal candidate will be confident in helping customers, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with book circulation and issuing, providing excellent customer service at all times.
    • Signpost customers to different services and support with promotional activities to generate income for the libraries.
    • Ensure seamless stock circulation and management, involving sorting, shelving, tidying, and handling reservations, fines, and membership activities.
    • Help analyze data to improve customer and staff experiences.
    • Contribute to unlocking/locking up procedures and act as a trusted keyholder in smaller libraries.

    Requirements

    • Possession of a driving licence (desired).
    • Demonstrated ability to use IT systems or willingness to learn.
    • Previous customer service experience.
    • Confidence in speaking to customers and signposting them to Library services.

    What We Offer

    As a Customer Services Assistant, you will be required to work with children to develop and grow our audience. As part of the interview process, you will need to deliver a short 5-minute activity demonstrating your ability to engage with children.

    Salary Information

    £23,344 per annum (full-time equivalent). Part-time salary TBC.
