We've teamed up with a cutting-edge science and technology business; one of a small group of businesses, who collectively make up the UK's fastest-growing, privately owned pharma companies.
They develop and maintain bespoke software solutions which are usedto deliver healthcare services and medicines to overcome disease. As part of their growth plans in 2023, they are looking for Lead Developer to join the business.Based in Wiltshire but well equipped for people to work on a remote basis, you can work entirely remotely from anywhere within the UK.
What you'll be doing
This is a varied role that includes leading a scrum team of 4-5 developers plus a QA, responsible for the design, build, delivery, and maintenance of products into one specific division of the business.
You'll be involved hiring, onboarding and the ongoing line-management of a team of junior-mid level developers, offering mentorship and support to ensure high-quality outputs.
Taking technical responsibility for end-to-end software projects in line with wider deliverables agreed across design, code, test and documentation. You'll liaise with and advise stakeholders on design and delivery standards, whilst also remaining hands onyourself.As the business progresses, you'll be expected to support them with implementing new tools and frameworks to support the wider team, so having an adaptable mindset with passion for learning new tech is essential.
What experience you'll need:
- Proven experience in software development at lead level, ideally with onboarding experience.
- Background in C#.Net they use.
Net Core.
- Wellversed in HTML, CSS, JavaScript with ability to build SPAs in React (or similar).
- Knowledge of automated unit and integration testing.
- Ability to work Agile (Scrum).
- Skilled in SQL, ORM frameworks and database design. Any messagebased microservice architecture knowledge would be awesome.
- Comfortable working in the cloud; they use AWS but another platform is fine.
- Awareness of CI/CD (TeamCity) and general DevOps ways of working.
- Any knowledge of infrastructureascode (Terraform, CloudFormation etc.) would be beneficial.
