Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join our team. As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to individuals with ASD.

Your responsibilities will include assisting individuals in developing essential life skills, promoting social interactions, and creating a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualised support plans based on the unique needs and goals of each individual with ASD.
Provide handson assistance and guidance in daily activities, including personal care, communication, and emotional regulation.
Foster positive social interactions and communication skills through engaging activities and interventions.
Collaborate with families, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to support.
Maintain accurate documentation of progress, behaviours, and any relevant incidents.
Implement behaviour management strategies and techniques in line with established protocols.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or degrees in fields such as psychology, education, or social work are a plus.
Previous experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with ASD.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and situations.
First aid and CPR certification is desirable.
