Main Purpose of the Job
To undertake direct work with children and young people as appropriate. To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people. To attend to their practical, physical, and emotional needs. To provide advice, assistance, and support to young people, safeguarding their welfare at all times.


As a Residential Care Worker (RCW), you will be required to:
Being aware of each child's care plan and their responsibilities for its implementation.

Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best the outcomes for young people.

Undertaking direct work with young people and acting as an appropriate role model.

Engaging young people in activities.


Maintaining accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files both to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place.

Effectively preparing and cooking meals for the young people.

Ensuring the housekeeping levels in the Home are of a high standard.

Working at all times to safeguard the young people we support.

Having a resilient approach, positive demeanour, attitude, and body language.

Being aware of the aims and objectives of the home and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve them.

Attending team/ staff meetings and making a positive contribution to them.

Being willing to give and receive feedback on performance with colleagues and managers.

Providing informal practical and emotional support to colleagues experiencing difficulties.

Attending and contributing to regular supervision sessions in line with the Quality Standards.

Monitoring the conduct of colleagues and referring on any causes for concern (Whistleblowing).

Being familiar with all policies and procedures and adhering to them.


Experience & Qualifications
Level 3 in Residential Child Care. (Desired)

Minimum of 1 years' relevant experience.

Hold a valid Driving licence.
(required)
Minimum age requirement of 21 years of age.
(required)
DBS on Update System. (Desired)

This role will include shift work, involving evenings, weekends, and sleeps.
Advertised salary includes an average of 2 sleeps per week paid at an allowance of £60.00 a sleep. The Rota typically involves working 2 days on then 4 off

£30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
