Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting a Data Governance Lead to provide a consistent and risk
- based approach to technology-related data decisions in line with business strategies and objectives. The role-holder will ensure that technology-related data controls and processes are overseen effectively and transparently, and that legal and regulatory compliance requirements are met. This role reports to the Senior Data Governance Manager and is offered on a hybrid-working basis, from any of our UK offices.


Key Responsibilities

Management

  • Central point of expertise within the IT team who engages, helps, and maintains the Wood Data Steward network with updates and training related to compliance requirements for data governance across Wood IT.
  • Manage and drive the continual rollout of Data Governance Program thereby supporting the Senior Data Governance Manager in establishing and driving Enterprisewide Data Governance practices within Wood.
  • Guide business & data teams on data governance concepts, explaining the benefits of data governance policies and procedures within the context of the user's needs.
  • Partners and liaises with DPO and business teams across technology, ensuring consistent global policies, processes and controls are in place to ensure that risks are mitigated, and compliance is maintained.
  • Report to senior stakeholders in the business to ensure delivery of requirement and value optimisation in relation to Data Solutions Management.

Governance

  • Ability to lead and guide programs related to data quality and Metadata management.
  • Proven track record of delivering tools related to Data Governance
  • Data catalogue and Data Lineage tools.
  • Works with Senior DG Manager for the Operating Model rollout
- identify data domains and domain leads, owners, and stewards to assists in the development and delivery of data governance modules.

  • Works with business owners to define and establish data quality rules and definitions to align with organizational strategies and goals.
  • Enable a robust approach for the data governance framework creating accountability and responsibility in technology.
  • Implement adequate and appropriate data governance to enable decision making and meet our stakeholder needs.
  • Oversee the effectiveness of data governance checklists and blueprint to embed the data governance framework.
  • Ensure that the data governance framework feeds into both the IT and corporate governance agenda delivering the strategic objectives for Wood.
  • Deliver value creation and greater efficiency through the elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working.
  • Drive process change using techniques such as reporting, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, business analysis and workflow analysis.
  • Manage risk mitigation and project requirements to propose enablers to process, people and technology, where required reengineering processes to increase efficiencies.
  • Foster the alignment of internal and external documentation in adherence to contractual terms and conditions.
  • Collaborates with Data Leads, Data Analyst, and IT team to ensure data quality and timely availability of data. Review quality control activities including periodically using maturityassessments where applicable.

Risk

  • Manage a riskbased approach to identify and treat data risk as it relates to technology, business strategy and objectives.
  • Consolidate and report on data security risk to data owners and stewards
  • Anticipate and communicate any changes in the companies' operational risk profile to relevant stakeholders; provide insight and report on current and likely future data security risks
  • Responsible for data management and data governance of IT Group Risk Register.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and reports on information security data risks, which supports the effective protection of information assets.
  • Deliver risk mitigation plans in response to changes in data risk profile driven by internal and external events and through lessons learned.
  • Design and operate standard information gathering tools to ensure ongoing evaluation and validation of control effectiveness.
  • Support compliance of thirdparty security including assessment and audit of Wood subcontractors.
  • Engage with internal functions and external partners to support project bids and assure Wood compliance to legal, regulatory and compliance requirement thereby ensuring all assigned projects have clearly defined requirements for Data Governance.
  • Support Senior Manager in Group and Business Unit Incident and crisis response management.

Compliance

  • Support SGRC team in audit and assurance exercises in respect of the data protection/data governance programme
  • Accountable for assurance through analysing the current state of IT and recommending opportunities for optimisation.
  • The delivery of appropriate training
