EPUT Podiatric Surgery service covers South East, South West and West Essex and Bedfordshire and Luton. We are currently undergoing a formal restructuring to equip ourselves better for a sustainable and developing future. As a result of this there is an opening for an Operational Lead.


The post holder will be a demonstrably experienced and forward thinking operational manager, with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the potential contribution of Podiatric Surgery within both the acute and community environments.

They will lead and operationally manage EPUT Podiatric Surgery services in line with national, regional and system commissioning strategies/clinical pathways and national guidance/frameworks, being responsible for effective service planning, development and overall management in line with corporate objectives and agreed contracts.

They will work in close liaison with the Clinical Lead to provide consistent leadership in respect of these. They will be responsible the effective marketing of the service within the newly formed commissioning groups.


They will also work closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure that team building and staff engagement are actively encouraged and undertaken to rebuild robust and positive team dynamics, thereby engendering an ethos of joint working and accountability in all staff.


The post holder will seek opportunities for business development, underpinned by excellent patient feedback and effective communication with stakeholders - internal and external - and will ensure that all staff are engaged in all forms of governance.


In the absence of the Director and as reasonably required, the post holder will advise Executive Team and the Trust Board on Podiatric Surgery, deputising for the Director as appropriate and required.
