The Purpose:


This role will be key to our success, as you'll oversee and co-ordinate all operational deliverables for events held at the Estate enabling us to drive our ambitious growth plans.

This is an incredible opportunity to work with a fantastic team in a unique environment to influence public understanding of biodiversity and ecosystem services.


Required Experience:


  • Practical skills and experience in estate maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of tree's, plants and wildlife.
  • A sound background in machinery usage to include ride on / hand mowers, brush cutters, chainsaw, mini digger An understanding and working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
  • An ability to work alone or as a member of a team (i.e. to work with other team members, gardeners, students, volunteers and contractors as may be required).
  • NPTC Tractor Driving.
  • A current, clean driving licence with the ability to tow trailer.

Overall purpose of the job:


  • Act as an ambassador for Trentham in the wider estate, especially in the nonpaid for areas.
  • Support with maintenance tasks and preservation of areas of the estate Carry out light pathway, walkway and deck repairs.
  • Carry out light forestry works.
  • Support in the management of livestock and wildlife.
  • Undertake weekly health and safety checks and report back as required.
  • Carry out woodland patrols to ensure safety is maintained and damage is rectified.
  • Support in delivering biodiversity and sustainability activities and projects.
  • Provide support for large scale projects where plant and machinery usage are required.


For safeguarding reasons, the company requires employees in this position to undergo a basic DBS check, which will show unspent convictions only.

The results of the DBS check would be dealt with on a case-by case base.
