    About the Role

    The Sous Chef position at RAF St Mawgan is a key role that requires overseeing all operational aspects of the kitchen and staff in the absence of the Head Chef.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure all kitchen staff prepare and present quality food, meeting Company Standards.
    • Maintain correct food and hygiene standards among kitchen staff.
    • Lead by example to ensure the kitchen remains presentable at all times.
    • Provide hands-on management, setting a positive example for all staff.
    • Participate in recruitment processes, including interviews and trials for Second Chefs, Trainee Chefs, and Kitchen Porters.
    • Communicate regularly with the Head Chef regarding stock levels.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Prior experience as a Sous Chef is preferred but not essential.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
    • Able to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving stock and equipment.
    • Confident in using Microsoft Office and Outlook.
