The Role


Are you an experienced Bid Manager, ideally from the construction or R & M industry with strong knowledge of the whole bid process, having successfully managed bids from start to finish with a leading national or regional contractor.

To be successful inthis role you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organised and have good team management skills.

You will be responsible for the quality of all aspects of the bid, including written documentation and presentations, ensuringthat written work is clear, concise and compelling.

We are looking for someone who can come in and support the growth ambitions of ODSTL, helping us win new business which helps us to build our reputation as best in class for commercial service and social value.

You will be able to help shape this growth,having achieved a lot so far in your career, but still want to grow and develop.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer of the group, this role has opportunity, influence and visibility. You will proactively work with our operational teams to develop bids and seek alternative methods of delivery.


The role will include hybrid working but is likely to be in the office 1 to 2 days a week.


We are open to a wide range of backgrounds, but we would like to see a mix of experience, ideally some construction experience with NEC and JCT contracts and a track record of large scale successful tender wins.

  • A deep understanding of the bid process
  • A commitment to an excellent customer experience
  • A good understanding of innovation and differentiation
  • Sharp focus on project management and quality
  • An individual who can inspire and lead, managing internal and external staff
  • Someone who can train staff in the bid management process to increase the ability of the organisation to produce bids
